Love to make some of this a day ahead for guests, or a special pancake breakfast with the family. I also can it so I have it handy any time. Nothing says fall like the smell of apples and spices! http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/All-Day-Apple-Butter-2/Detail.aspx

Cincinnati Chili

2 pounds extra lean ground beef
1 quart water
4 small onions, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons crushed red peppers
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons salt
5 bay leaves
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 can tomato paste

Combine the water, beef and onion in a large pot. Cook until beef is done. Either using stick hand blender or your regular blender, blend mixture until a smooth even texture. If you used a blender return the mixture to the pot. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for at least an hour. The longer the better though. Stir every so often so it doesn't stick to the bottom. Below are some ways to serve it. My favorite is the 3-way. Make sure you top it with oyster crackers and hot sauce.

The Classic 3-Way

The Classic 3-Way: It’s what made us famous the world over. Start with a plate full of steaming spaghetti. Add our secret-recipe chili made with fresh ground beef and rich tomato paste. Top it off with our natural cheddar cheese. All three layers combine for an unforgettable taste sensation. So strap on a bib, toss on some oyster crackers and try our world famous 3-Way!

Chili & Spaghetti Dishes

Classic 3-Way Chili: Our signature dish…steaming spaghetti, covered with original, secret recipe Skyline Chili and topped with a mountain of shredded cheddar cheese.

4-Way Chili: A 3-Way with the addition of diced onions or red beans.

5-Way Chili: Spaghetti, chili, diced onions, red beans and mild cheddar cheese.

The Cheese Coney

The Cheese Coney: It’s a “coney island” chili dog like no other. Take our specially made hot dog in a freshly steamed bun, ladle on our secret-recipe chili, and add mustard and diced onions. Top it off with a mound of mild cheddar cheese and…bite that dog!
