Ick

This will be a very short post for my first “My Life Monday”. My minis have had the flu and I am exhausted. I have tons to do but they do and will always come first. I will be keeping them home tomorrow from school. Johnna seems to be doing much better but Jake is still relapsing. I don’t want to inflict this upon any other children or mothers for that matter.  Tomorrow will be a busy day of laundry and soap making while my minis hang out on the couch with some good tube.

All reduced to a hand sized hard drive...

Got my laptop back today... okay, I didn't but I got the external hard drive they made from it. I'm a tad afraid to look. What if they missed something?! Trying to remain calm... I don't think I'm in any condition to look at it today. I had my third day of headaches. In an effort to conserve my precious migraine medicine I popped 4 ibuprofen instead. My stomach isn't happy with that decision...

The kids and I planted a cherry tomato plant, a golden Roma tomato plant and a cayenne pepper plant today. John planted a whole lotta grass seed. Hopefully the greedy robin gets full soon so some of it will have a chance to germinate.

Oh, and I got a bunch of new fabric today! It's already all washed, dried and folded. (See photo above.) I also got 3 yards of an extra wide cloud looking flannel that I'm going to use to make new curtains for the kids room. Hope it works out how I envision it.

Winding down now. Johnna has already drifted off to sleep after her chicken and fries. Waiting for John to get home with our meal. Love me some Asian Express on a Friday night! :)

Lots to do this weekend... I'll update on my progress soon!

R.I.P Dear Laptop...

My laptop died.
Well, not all the way. The on and off button still works... but that's about it.
Only $950 dollars to fix it! (Not happening.) Not including the $190 I paid for a copy of the hard drive. (Worth every penny.) I guess there will be a new computer somewhere in my future. I'm not very happy about this but I'm also not rushing out to buy a new one right now.

On a happier note... I have a fabric order scheduled to arrive tomorrow! Yay! I'll post pics if I can figure out how to upload them to my dear husband's computer. Actually I guess I'll have to figure that out whether I want to or not! :)

Haven't felt well today. And the kids fighting hasn't made me feel any better. I did do some cleaning... always so much more to do. But we are going to have a nice evening come hell or high water. Homemade nachos are on the menu and the Wipeout (John's favorite show) season finale is on tonight. Throw in a hot bath, some Angry Birds (Jacob is really, really good at it) and all will be right with the world.

Until next time...

Hoot!

My new year is looking up!
I got a very nice order last night. Can’t wait to share pictures when it’s finished but for now all I can say is… owl. Lots of soap making and sewing to be done!
Supplies and materials have been ordered. Now to finish my other projects before it all gets here!
At about midnight last night decided to lookup the benefits and/or hazards of gargling with hydrogen peroxide. My throat has hurt for about a week… I’m trying home remedies before I break down and go to the doctor. Anyways, it says it is safe to do right on the bottle! So I tried it… holy foaming action Batman! It didn’t help much but I’m hopeful. I probably should just go to the doctor…
I’m kind of working in slow motion right now. I have a million ideas I want to implement just need to find my groove.
Time to make the broccoli cheese soup! Cya tomorrow!

Starting 2011... now!

The first week of 2011 blew chunks, literally. My babies had a stomach bug. My week was all about nasty substances, holding hair back, giving baths, washing sheets and blankets, disinfecting surfaces and desperately trying to coax wee ones to eat and drink.
Just when I thought my nightmare was over my sweet Murphy Mae took a turn for the worse. She went to heaven yesterday. It was a very, very sad day.
I am very happy to forget any of it ever happened.

I’ve decided my New Year starts today.
I have many plans, projects, goals and ideas for 2011. None of which involved the above… but some of which I’ll list below in no particular order.
New Soap
A Quilt-Along
Moving
Garage Sale (have never had one)
Weight Loss
Keeping a Schedule
Sewing, Sewing, Sewing
Date Nights
Family Outings
And more….

Stay tuned for updates on those. ;)

This week’s menu:
Sunday- smoked sausage, potato, pepper, onion and green bean skillet
Monday- broccoli cheese soup and biscuits
Tuesday- spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread
Wednesday- tilapia, rice and salad
Thursday- biscuits, gravy and hashbrowns
Friday- ffy (fend for yourself)
Saturday- red beans, rice and sausage

This week I’m thankful that last week is over. Amen.
